A 5.5-inch bowl hand-carved from natural nephrite jade: the dense, fine-grained jade traditionally valued above all other carving stones for its toughness and depth of color.
The bowl is shaped in a soft trefoil leaf form with a carved motif worked along the outer wall and a small sculpted detail at the rim. The stone runs from deep forest green to olive with pale cloudy inclusions, and the interior is polished to a smooth, water-like finish that shows the color at its best.
Use it as a trinket or ring dish on a dressing table, a catch-all on an entry console, an incense or salt dish on an altar, or simply as a small collected object on a shelf. Jade is traditionally given as a token of protection and good fortune.
