vintage-style-telephone-showpiece-hand-carved-in-green-aventurine
Vintage Telephone in Green Aventurine

A vintage-style desk telephone, hand-carved in its entirety from natural green aventurine. Handset, base, keypad, cradle hooks and the curl of the cord are all shaped from stone: there are no cast or assembled parts.

The aventurine here runs to a deep forest green with warm ochre and near-black inclusions, polished to a high gloss that reads almost like enamel. Carving a hollow, cantilevered form like a telephone handset in a brittle natural stone is genuinely difficult work, and it is what makes this piece unusual rather than merely decorative.

It belongs on an executive desk, a study shelf, a bar cart or a bookcase: anywhere a piece is meant to be picked up and remarked on. A strong gift for a collector, a corporate milestone or an anniversary.

One of a kind. Height: 5 inches. Width: 5.6 inches.

Hand-carved from a single block of natural gemstone in India and hand-polished to a soft luster. Because every block of stone is unique, the color, banding and inclusions of the piece you receive will vary slightly from the photographs. That variation is the signature of a genuine natural stone carving. Dust with a soft dry cloth; avoid harsh chemicals and prolonged direct sunlight.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1005/8291/6387/files/original_37c382c2-1255-49c6-9cca-16d5655e7834.png?v=1792615823
